What is a Tiered Huddle Board
We start our study by defining the
tool we will be further analyzing. Tiered huddle board meetings are a quick
15-minute update typically scheduled in the mornings between 7:00 AM to 11:00
AM, depending upon when the business opens or starts the workday. The goal of
these meetings is to have a brief touch base before starting the days’ work.
They are designed to prioritize, escalate needs or risks, and set goals for the
week.
Each huddle is divided into different “tiers” that facilitate a place of proper escalation and align like-goals. Tier one is typically associates or employees who perform the tasks in the work field. Tier two would then move up to the supervisory level of the company. In tier three, you will see the managers of the individual departments of the company. Tier four is assigned to the directors or vice presidents/presidents of the company. And finally, tier five, which moves us into the CEO, executive directors, and or the owners of the company.
With each huddle comes a different
type of organization based on the need for that particular group. Building a
team-based environment and support system with open communication that leads to
proper delegation and escalation. Laying out a day, week, or months’ worth of
work to better organize the workplace.
